It’s been almost two months since the start of Lockdown in the UK and this can play havoc with your skin, as well as everything else!  Why?

  • Less Fresh Air and Exercise

This causes dull, tired-looking skin, dry skin, dark circles and more wrinkles.

  • Stress

As we’re all feeling quite stressed, worrying, doing extra housework and cleaning and looking after others more, this can also lead to breakouts, acne, puffy and tired, dull-looking skin.

  • Rich, Sugary & Fried Foods

We are looking for more comfort foods sometimes at the moment, but too much of these types of foods leads to breakouts or dull, wrinkly skin.

  • Not Enough Sun

Believe it or not, we need Vitamin D from the sun, so too much or too little sun is very unhealthy and can lead to premature aging.

So what can we do about this?

  • Make sure you pamper your skin and adopt a great routine every day – cleanse, tone & moisturise your skin every day with the correct products for your skin type (get in touch and we can advise you if you are unsure)
  • Exfoliate your skin twice a week (once if you’re skin is sensitive and if it is, don’t use a scrub, use a gentle liquid exfoliator with AHAs or fruit acids)
  • Eat more healthy foods – more fruit and vegetables and less refined sugar, rich foods or fried foods
